{"id":16253,"date":"2017-03-14T19:54:24","date_gmt":"2017-03-14T23:54:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.unclerickaudios.com\/?p=16253"},"modified":"2017-03-14T19:54:24","modified_gmt":"2017-03-14T23:54:24","slug":"not-race-alone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.characterconcepts.com\/unclerick\/2017\/03\/14\/not-race-alone\/","title":{"rendered":"We Are Not in This Race Alone!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>We Are Not in this Race Alone!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hey, little buddies!<\/p>\n<p>It was beautiful out this morning, so when I got to the farm I was looking forward to giving Major, Daisy and Mosby a nice run behind the truck.\u00a0 That\u2019s a ritual we enjoy together almost every day that the ground is dry enough to drive on.\u00a0 We usually go a mile or two on the gravel roads here at Mr. Titus\u2019 place and we all love it.\u00a0 And today was a sunny day in early spring, one of the warmest days we\u2019ve had this year.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, it was a little too warm.\u00a0 Old Major was moving a little more slowly than usual.\u00a0 He\u2019s not yet used to the warm temperature we\u2019re having today.\u00a0 While Daisy raced and Mosby galloped, Major just trotted along and conserved his energy.<\/p>\n<p>Life can be that way for people, too.\u00a0 We gallop along in our daily race, having a good time and enjoying the exercise.\u00a0 But sometimes we get a little hotter than we\u2019re used to, and it becomes a tough job just to keep on.\u00a0 Maybe the problem is opposition from other people.\u00a0 Maybe somebody is making fun of you because you\u2019re not as good at something as somebody else is.\u00a0 Maybe you\u2019re having a hard time resisting the temptation to do things you know are wrong.\u00a0 Maybe you\u2019re just not feeling well today.<\/p>\n<p>Hebrews 12:1 is a good verse for the tough times.\u00a0 It reminds us that we\u2019re not in the race alone.\u00a0 It says: \u00a0\u201cTherefore since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us\u2026\u201d\u00a0 The witnesses it\u2019s talking about are the heroes of the faith we\u2019ve just read about in Chapter 11.<\/p>\n<p>It seems to be saying that believers from past ages are watching as we live our daily lives and rooting for us as we fight the good fight of faith.\u00a0 Hebrews 11 mentions Abraham, Moses, Joseph, Gideon, David and much more.\u00a0 Isn\u2019t it great to think that you have them in your cheering section?\u00a0 I\u2019ll bet you also have faithful grandparents or great-grandparents in heaven too, looking down and rooting for you in your race.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We Are Not in this Race Alone!
