Fun!<\/p>\n<p>But one year there wasn&#8217;t as much beach to play on as in previous years. The waves had washed away a lot of the sand and dragged it out into the ocean. At high tide, there was only a strip of sand a few yards wide for us to play on!<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.characterconcepts.com\/unclerick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/urickblogpost.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21574\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.characterconcepts.com\/unclerick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/urickblogpost.jpg\" alt=\"Build Your Life on the Rock\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.characterconcepts.com\/unclerick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/urickblogpost.jpg 640w, https:\/\/blog.characterconcepts.com\/unclerick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/urickblogpost-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Oh, it was still lots of fun, but not nearly as much room to run around on as last year.<\/p>\n<p>There was a lesson in that!<\/p>\n<p>Matthew 7:24-27 says:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.<\/p>\n<p>And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.<\/p>\n<p>The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house, and it fell-and great was its fall.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s Jesus speaking.<\/p>\n<p>He says that wise men build their houses on rock. Foolish men build their houses on sand. And people who don&#8217;t obey His words are like the foolish man who built his house on sand.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.characterconcepts.com\/unclerick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/house.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-21573\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.characterconcepts.com\/unclerick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/house.jpg\" alt=\"Build Your Life on the Rock\" width=\"640\" height=\"295\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.characterconcepts.com\/unclerick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/house.jpg 640w, https:\/\/blog.characterconcepts.com\/unclerick\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/house-300x138.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Let me tell you, if anybody had built his house on that beach last year, he wouldn&#8217;t have had any house left this year! What a great lesson in the sand. Let&#8217;s be sure we not only listen to the words of Jesus, but obey them.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s build our lives on the rock, not on the sand.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hey, little buddies!
